Kir had been stalking this one for about a week now, since he had found that first kill. It was sloppy and just down right stupid, vampires should have some system for turning, no idiots for one, keep it those stuck up middle ages noble/knight guys. Would hopefully keep the true monsters out of immortality. A vampire paedophile is something that will haunt you for life and it sent a shiver of horror up his spine as he suppressed those memories.
All his evidence pointed to this vampire being very young, young enough for a single silver hollow point to the heart to kill him. Kir was lucky, he could maybe take a vampire up to 150 but while he has the skills his vampire blood is still very young and so weak. It was harder to grow old enough to be a truely powerful hunter while you went looking for death all the time. That thought made the half-blood smirk slightly as he made sure to stay downwind.
He had on his black leather armour and his usual array of weapons, daggers and knives or various uses and lengths as well as a couple Browning pistols as well as his black katana. The armour was tight enough that it didn't make noise while also not being uncomfortable or impeding him movement, the only noice he could have made was from his sword jiggling in its sheath so he had one hand on the hilt.
He had made sure to feed of some wild dog earlier, it wasn't pleasant or as powerful as human blood but it kept his strength up. He already knew what room the vampire was using, already knew its layout so he snuck into the hotel and after making sure his prey hadn't slipped out of the room again he drew both pistols.
One well placed boot against the lock easily broke the door and it nearly flew off its hinges from the momentum of the kick. He didn't hesitate - never has - as he walked into the room guns ready. The vampire was already there and he was forced to block a couple strikes before he could get some of his own in to force the vampire back towards the window. Another quick flurry of blows gave him the opening to fire point blank at the left side of the guy's chest. Yet it barely made him flinch and the vampire wrapped his arms around Kir trying to crush him, great he was wrong about the vampires age, that was until the vampire told him he had situs inversus.
Didn't this guy watch films? Just gave away his life ending secret, "Good to know." Kir said with a grin as he tripped the vampire up and they both tumbled through the air falling seven stories. Even with a vampire as a cushion and being more durable than a human the fall still hurt like hell and he dislocated his left shoulder but Kir wasn't the kind to groan in pain when there was work to do so he dragged himself off the vampire who had apparently broken a couple bones enough for Kir to escape his grip.
Drawing the katana was painful but he had no time to look for his guns. Taking the head of anything is messy business and Kir was soon splattered with dead blood and there was another little problem. This second vampire in front of him, he was still dazed from the fall so there were a few openings in how he held his sword out in defence and his shoulder would be a hindrance in a fight. "Please tell me you aren't on his side. I am not in the mood to fight for my life." he groaned at the woman.

Artemis hadn’t seen any other vampires in over a hundred years. She hadn’t minded before and she still didn’t mind being on her own now. It was just that she was curious about how many of her kind were left. With all the humans dying there was a shortage of blood, The less vampire’s there were then the more food there would be. Terrible to think about, but still necessary. If there were more Vampire’s then human’s then it would end badly.
When she heard about a sloppy Vampire in the area she figured it would be the best time to snoop around and find out more about the vampire’s in the area. Though her search ended quickly and in disappointment. She had gotten to the building just in time to see two men fall to the ground. She could have helped the Vampire of course, but he more than likely deserved what he was getting. He bit off more than he could chew.
She frowned when he asked her if was on the other vampire’s side. That was almost insulting but she chose to ignore it for now she had bigger issue’s now. Her so called informant was now dead and she was going to have to start looking elsewhere. Maybe there was some kind of information in the room he was staying in. “If I was with him you would already be dead.” She said simply as she walked over to the dead vampire and kicked the head away from the body. “Put your sword down, you are in no shape to be holding it. If you tried to fight you wouldn’t last a minuet.” She wasn’t one for helping people but if the Vampire did have friends She couldn’t just leave the guy defenseless. She looked back at the body, “What were your reason’s for killing this man?”

He chuckled and shook his head, arrogance, pretty much the one thing in common vampires seem to have, of course dhampirs seem to inherit that to. Must be the age thing, and all that power. "Cocky one aren't you? Then again those with vampire blood do not tend to be cowards." he said with a smirk, vampires amused him, needing humans for food but looking down on them, even those who protect them. Even some humans respected where they got their food, sure it got less and less common the more time went on, or so he imagined. Being so young he couldn't give first hand accounts of the peasants of the past who worked themselves to death every day for food didn't take it for granted.
"Oh I can hold it just fine, not my sword arm that buggered, and I am sure I could last longer than you think. Do you see me as one of them? I don't know if you can't tell I am half vampire or just do not care. Either way if you do not know that my kind generally hunt vampires well you do now, too much is at stake to allow such things as a vampire living when they kill every month. Gotta thin the herd so to speak," he said with a raised eyebrow and smiled at her, "The vampires who survive this will be those who can either hide their kills from us, are too old and powerful for us to destroy or can adapt to not killing when they feed. I am very interested to see how this places master keeps control of his... subjects."
He then smiled wider at her and lowered the blade, it was a defensive stance, one that meant he wasn't threatening her but was ready to defend himself should anything happen, "Now if you are not here to tear out my throat you reckon you can pop my arm back in?" he asked wondering if she had noticed his eyes never left hers since she spoke. If she had any of those vampire mental powers then his vampire blood would give him a lot of resistance to it, you would have to be at least 200 to so much as make his eye twitch with effort. Lovely thing this, being a dhampir, you are immortal but alive, can sire children, stronger than humans but weaker than vampires initially and certain abilities.
He grinned again and bowed slightly, his eyes still never leaving hers as he stated a single word, "Kir."

He thought she was being cocky? She didn’t see it as being cocky; to her it was just honesty. She smiled as she listened to him explain what he was, “I could tell that your different, but your right in assuming that I don’t care. Normally I avoid vampires or anyone with vampire blood.” If it weren’t for the world spiraling into destruction she wouldn’t be wasting her time searching for others. “I agree that some vampires who deserve to be hunted, but there are those of us who didn’t have a choice and must do what is possible to survive. If you do hunt vampires then I hope you know the difference between someone who deserves to die and someone who doesn’t.” Some couldn’t help what they were and did not deserve to die because of it.
She relaxed a bit more when he lowered his sword. At least that made it seem like he wasn’t going to attack her. This was good since she really wasn’t in the mood for a fight either. “If I help you then you have to promise to behave. Try to run that sword through me and you will be very sorry, understood?” She was smiling when she spoke but she was still serious. There was no reason for her to trust him and she would be ready if he tried to attack.
She moved closer to him after he introduced himself, noticing that he wasn’t taking his eyes off hers. This made her laugh, “ Well Kir, My name is Artemis, and you can stop staring at me like that, mind games are for the weak. Now I am not really sure if this is going to hurt you or not but you should probably brace yourself.” She took his arm and quickly popped it back into place. ”Is that better?”

"The council tells me who to kill and the line changes over the centuries. The past few hundred years as I understand it the line was pretty lax, after all, billions on the planet, slowly strangling it. Now however those billions are dead, and a vampire will find it easier to have their death warrant signed." he explained with a shrug, as far as he was concerned his used was that as a tool, to search out supernaturals and keep the humans safe from them. These... zombies are included, "We are like the police, except from keeping humans safe from other humans we keep then safe from our world. Yet sometimes we do make mistakes and rarer than humans do. Death is fickle, I would have thought a vampire would know that. Deserving something means nothing."
"Define behave and sword and I'll see what I can do." he joked with a really bad grin, it was something that only came out when he was in a lot of pain, this innuendo stuff. "It has nothing to do with mind games, well maybe a little but I am not old enough to kill a lot of vampires so even if I blink and you are fast enough I could die. They let me hunt on my own because and I quote 'strong survival instincts'."
Going to hurt or not? Who was she kidding, she was going to put a dislocated joint back into place it's going to bloody hurt, he also changed his stance to be able to defend himself should she try anything, it wasn't an aggressive but showed he wasn't going to be fucked with. "Motherfracking hell!" he hissed and started to rotate his arm, it hurt going back in but the relief when it went back in was instant.
"Thank you, feels so much better." he said and sheathed his sword, if she was going to try anything the best moment had already passed so he figured he could put it away for now. Now where were his guns...
Smiling at her again while he kept an eye out for his guns, "So if you are old enough to be one of those vampires who keeps changing their name is there a reason why you bear the name of the huntress herself?" he wondered and pulled at a loose thread of his armour thankful it was only a thread. Repairing his armour is a massive waste of time.

Artemis laughed quietly when he hissed in pain, “Your welcome, Maybe next time you should think twice before you go tumbling down 7 stories. Was that an accident or did you do that on purpose?”
She was glad to see him put his sword away at least he didn’t find her threatening anymore. “I have changed my name quite a few times, but Artemis is the name I was given when I was born. My mother was born in Greece; I was born outside underneath a full moon. Since the moon is a symbol for the goddess my mother saw it right to name me after her.” She was rather attached to her name, it was important to her mother. “Plus I am somewhat of a hunter so it fits.”
She shrugged and moved away from him. “Why do you ask? Do you think there is something weird about my name or are you just a naturally curious person?” She started looking around again and spied a gun on the floor. She picked it up and twirled it around her finger, “I believe this is yours, I saw another one hit the ground when you two landed but I don’t see it anywhere, I would help you find it but I really should be on my way.” She saw no reason to stay since the vampire she had come to speak with was now dead.

Kir looked embarrassed at her question and he awkwardly shuffled from one foot to the other a few times, "Umm well you see, I thought that this vampire here was young enough that a silver bullet liquidising his heart would be enough to kill him, or knock him out for a second one to blow his brains out. But his heart was on the right side of his body." he admitted and shrugged as he felt his cheeks flush a bit, "And I guess he thought falling that distance would kill me and he sorta pulled me down with him while I was still a little surprised he wasn't dead."
Admitting that was so mortifying, for a hunter like him to fail like he had was laughable. He then listened to her with a smile and nodded along, "Oh I am naturally curious, was just so geeky, always with the questions I was. But I was just wondering, the huntress was a very respectable and powerful goddess, even though she wasn't all that keen on men it doesn't do well not to at least give the girl some respect do you not think so?" he inquired and smiled again at her.
"Thank you." he said with a sigh as he reached for the weapon. Replacing his pistols would have been so much hassle, plus he would spend weeks without them, he chuckled when she said she should be going, "You have eternity before you and you cannot spare a stud like myself a few seconds of your nose? It was the gun that I fired so it should stink, your nose is better than mine so it would be quicker and easier if you helped me Lady Artemis."
The smell of the vampire's blood made his own hunger, dhampirs could drink vampire blood with no ill health but it only made the experience of the feed stronger, more erotic and pleasurable. At least it was to him and the blood brought up the memories of when he was very nearly close to vampire who was oh so very young, so fresh as to more or less have a beating heart.
