Sam is extremely gentle and loving. He's loyal and will defend anyone who he cares about to the extreme without thought of himself or anyone else. He's patient and kind. Sam thankfully didn't get the vaccine, although he was destined to get it as they had run out and was told to come back the next day. Thankfully of course he hadn't other wise he would be one of the Animated walking around right now, mindless and no longer himself. He thought the vaccine was a good idea, but when things turned sour he realized that it wasnt. The normal vaccines against the flu would've been just fine, but creating a whole new thing was not such a good idea without naturally testing it first. His whole family is gone, except Emma.

Marnie is a really sweet girl. she's loyal and smart and likes to flirt. she loves animals and meeting new people. Marnie is tough and will tell anyone off that doesn't speak to her properly. She's a bit reserved around men, after her boyfriend badly abused her. She flirts lightly, but is scared to get involved in any serious relationship. She's got a wonderful sense of humor and loves making others laugh. She sees beauty in everything even in a world like it is now. She's very optimistic and is always seeing the bright side of things. She can get a bit perky and upbeat, but if it bothers anyone she will generally tone it down.

Marnie felt horrible about the vaccine and luckily didn't bother taking it. When the people started changing, Marnie headed up north for a bit, wondering if perhaps the 'virus' hadn't hit anywhere cold. she was right. She stayed up there for a while and then once she felt it was safe enough, she came back down to the US
Her parents and family were gone of course, one of the 'Reanimated' walking around the city. She doesn't agree with the radicals thoughts and hopes that some how they can be stopped. She isn't against any of the remaining paranormals mingling in with the humans. her grandparents live in Ireland but she is unable to get in contact with them. She fears that they are just like her family.

Tamara loves to flirt with guys. She is wacky and has a bubbly personality. She likes to enjoy life and likes to do things spontaneously. Tamara can be impulsive at times as well. She can be a bit head strong and likes it when things go her way. If not, she will pout and be moody until something does happen to go her way. She is fiercely loyal and tough, which was why she chose the police profession. She likes to protect the innocents of the world. She will express her feelings without hesitation and doesn't like anyone treating her without respect. She likes to be respected and give out respect the same way its's given to her.

She didn't believe in the flu shots, even though the department would demand that all their officers get it for health reasons. Tamara had simply stated that she was allergic to the shot and would not get it. That night while sleeping the whole world changed and when she woke up, she realized it had been a good thing that she hadn't gotten the shot. She would be a Re-Animator right now, deadish. Her brother is alive somewhere and she's frantically trying to get in contact with him. The rest of her family she isnt sure about. most were in the city when the apocalypse started so there is a slim chance they are alive.

Ryan used to be a LT of the army when the apocalypse hit, several of his teams and leaders vanished or became one of the reanimated. Ryan became tough and fearless, though he puts on a brave front from military training, underneath he is as human and scared as anyone else. He is tough, not backing down from any fight that might come his way. He's fiercely protective over those he meets. He's not afraid to take charge in any situation and led some ideas and expertiese. Granted he might not make the best decisions, but the majority of the time they are necessary.

Ryan was one of those called on scene when the military realized the vaccine was going wrong and some of the people began turning already. They managed to take out a number of them, but the 'virus' began spreading via bite and blood contact, it began spreading way too fast for the military to keep up and keep things in control. At that point, he wasn't even sure the president was alive and human anymore either. The government had fallen more than likely and now, the survivors were on their own to fend for themselves.

His family is gone, except for his sister, which he is searching for. He knew she was one of them that hadn't taken the vaccine, and only hopes that she is nearby in the city.

Anya is a big dreamer. She dreams of things to come, and wants to get in the process of having it come true. She feels immensely guilt for the V4 vaccine outbreak. She is taking it upon herself to find a cure for it. She blames the CDC for rushing into distribution without even testing it first. She is angry at them for what they had done. Anya is very bubbly and cheerful. She has a positive outlook on things and is very determined to right the wrong. She never had a boyfriend due to her dedication to her career, but now the world has 'ended', that has changed. She has trouble expressing herself and her emotions.

When it immediately went down, Anya went to the public relations and told them to discontinue the vaccine. By then however, it was too late. It had spread nationwide and without the CDC knowing, it had even spread globally. By then it was way too late for anything to be done about stopping it. She can only now hope that she comes up with a cure, even though there is a few ex employees of the CDC around that hadn't turned. She hopes that the future will be brighter. She felt so guilty about it and horrible . She feels totally responsible on the behalf.

Charlee is very impulsive and does things on a whim. She doesn't stop to think about the ramifications of what her behavior might do on others. She sometimes doesn't appear to have a conscience, but deep down she does. She doesn't like to admit she is wrong and will do anything to side step and come up with reasons to make her appear to be right. She loves to flirt and doesn't seem to care of a guy has a girlfriend or not. She will do it right in front of her. However, she does hope to find someone special that will help her change some of her ways , but not restrict her on who she really is.

Charlee was actually visiting Cemetery Gates from San Francisco at the time the apocalypse hit. She hadn't gotten the vaccine , as it hadn't hit her town for distribution. She managed to escape being attacked by Re-Animators. All her family is gone except her older brother, Randy. He is the only survivor that had lived. He had come with her to Cemetery Gates on vacation. They are extremely close now, even closer than before. Their grandparents are gone as well as their parents. She blames the CDC for not testing the vaccine before handing it out. They should've made sure it was correct and tested properly. She doesn't think the world will be able to go back to the way it was before.

Ethan is generally a quiet and reserved guy. He's very protective over those he cares about. He would go to any lengths to help those in need. Ethan is very shy around girls. He usually gets tongue tied around them and stumbles over things, becoming a bit of a klutz around them. His protectiveness comes from the fact that he's a werewolf. He's sometimes pessimistic and a bit of a realist. He tends not to sugar coat things and tells it like it is. Ethan likes cars, music, girls and planes. He used to fly before the apocalypse as a pilot for one of the major airline companies. Ethan can't stand peanuts, hypocrites, jealous people and those that have large egos.

Ethan was actually flying when the call came over the radio about the apocalypse. When he landed in the airport, it was completely deserted. There were undead walking around. He knew that he had to get out of there. He flew to the next airport, which was still working miraculously. He managed to get to his daughter in time before the vaccine went global. His entire family, other than his daughter Elizabeth, were gone.
