It seemed like as good a place as any to hide; at least she hoped it was as she stepped inside the High school. So far she had come to this town unnoticed, which is what she preferred. Sure apart of her missed talking to people and wanted company, but she knew there was no one out there who would see her as a person. Only as some kind of undead freak or monster; so hiding as she moved from town to town was her only option. She had tried to make a friend once and learned quickly from that mistake. She ended up having to fight her way out of that town to escape the military and some crazy zombie hunters along with them. She scoffed at the memory.
The high school seemed safe enough; there were no people that she could tell. All that awaited her down the dark hallways was silence. Silence that would have most people running scared, but to her it was a comfort. It definitely helped her feel safer.
She walked until she found a classroom that looked safe enough to stay in for the night. After tossing her bag on the floor she sat down in the corner facing the only door so she could keep an eye out for trouble. For hours there was no sound at all, not even the wind blowing, then out of nowhere she heard movement heading towards the room she was in. Her body tensed as she reached into her bag and gripped the handle of her gun, ready for an attack, but relaxed when a dog pranced into the room and started sniffing around, “You dumb mutt you scared the hell out of me.” She growled. The dog jumped as if it hadn’t realized she was there then walked up to her and sniffed the end of her gun. It was surprising that it wasn’t afraid of her. “Are you stupid or something?” she asked as she reached out and scratched it behind the ears.
It was then that she heard more movement. The dog heard it to and started growling, which made her like the dumb animal even more. A shadow appearing at the door way and she quickly raised her gun, aiming it at the intruder. “If you know what’s good for you, you will turn around and walk right back out that door.”

It was dark now, the sun slowly sinking before the horizon and marking the time to head home. Humans had their curfew but Reed knew better then anyone that it wasn't smart to be outside after dark. He could get around just fine in the dark, hell he probably had a better chance then any human at night but was it worth it? He didn't want to risk being bitten, it wasn't worth it. So for the past few years he had been staying at the school. He had cleared out the East wing of mudo so it was safe to just walk in and wander. It was the art wing, he had always loved art though he would never admit it. He walked easily, long stride eating up the distance between the hotel and the school. It had been another good day of pillaging and robbing dead bodies but he was feeling it now. He had his two sets of saddle bags slung over his shoulder that he usually wore in his feral form. One was empty seeing as it usually had the clothes he was currently wearing in them but the other was overly fully. Some gold and silver chains hung out of the edges, showing his prizes. But he used none of them, the only thing he wore was the chain around his neck.
Reed paused at the door and studied it, tilting his head back and sniffing slightly. It still smelt of mudo but the door was slightly cracked open, and he knew he hadn't done that. He slowly lifted the bags off his shoulder and pushed the door open, slipping inside before shutting it and sliding the bolts in to lock the doors for the inside. Lowering the bags to his side once again he sniffed, movements turning feral as he stalked down the hallway with practised silence. Nostrils flared occasionally as he moved towards the room he usually stayed in. Opening the door he found nothing out of place but there was a different scent now. Wolf? No... Reed dropped his bags on the ground and sniffed again. Dog... Why would there bee a dog in here? There was no way it had been the one to open the door. But if there was a human here with it he would have smelt it for sure.
He closed the door softly, straightening to his full height and looking down the hall. He was an imposing sight, that much was for sure. he stood almost 7 feet tall and his body was lined with hard muscle, the scars that riddled his body probably didn't make him any more inviting either. One eye was gold like the creatures he shifted to while the other was a sharp ice blue like the family he had been abandoned by. Scrubbing a hand over his recently shaved head he began moving through the halls, half slinking and half crouching. Though in his human form he still managed to look like a wolf as he sniffed and peeked into each room. Then he found her. A young girl, he couldn't tell her age but she looked no older then 18, maybe 20. he wasn't good at human ages anymore, he failed to care. The dog was with her. She was talking to it... But she smelt dead... She was a mudo, there was no doubt about that from her scent...
Curiosity got the best of him and he stood. The dog gave him away, braking viciously and she immediately raised a gun and held it steadily at him. His lip curled at the threat and immediately the dog tucked his tail and stopped barking. Dogs didn't like werewolves but they knew better then to challenge them. "Unless you know who your dealing with I wouldn't make such idle threats" he rumbled back, voice a low tenor that seemed to come from somewhere deep in his chest. The shadows concealed him nicely, his black skin making him almost invisible other then the strip of white shirt that showed from inside his jacket. He stepped forward, touching a hand to the top of the door frame so he knew how far to duck to get inside. "What are you..." he said slowly, not stepping forward but holding his ground in the doorway.

Fear shot through her at the sight of him, but she was able to hide it well. Being what she was made it easily to hide. Her heart wasn’t beating so it couldn’t race. Sometimes she missed that feeling. The dog seemed to be just as scared as she was. He had to be the tallest guy she had ever seen, but that wasn’t what scared her. It was his eyes; even in the dark she could see them. One of them was gold and one blue, neither looking completely human. She wasn’t afraid of dying, she was already dead, but she still didn’t want this guy to rip her head off or anything. “I only make threats to those who look like they deserve them, and not only do you look like it, but my furry friend here seems to think you are trouble. That makes you threat worthy…So my threat stands…” She slowly rose to her feet, not taking her eyes or her gun away from the man.
She almost panicked when he asked her what she was. What kind of question was that to ask anyone? She was so tired of hearing that question over and over. “What kind of question is that? I am a person, I am a girl. That is the only thing that is important and that is the only answer you are going to get out of me.” She wasn’t about to admit what she was to anyone, especially not the crazy eyed stranger. “What about you? Should I be asking you the same question? Or are you the only one who gets to ask insulting questions?” She asked as she slowly lowered her gun. She wasn’t one to judge people for what or who they were, at least she never used to be. However she was willing to make an exception for anyone who decided to judge her for being something she couldn’t control.

It was almost unnerving to be standing there with her, talking and having this little stand off. He couldn't tell if she was afraid of him, her heart didn't race and no emotion betrayed itself on her features. Usually he would smell their fear of him, or at least hear it, and normally that made him mad. Everyone in this world judged on appearances, it was simply how it worked but he had spend his whole life being judged so his tolerance for people was minimal. Her response was said with a steady voice as she stood, maybe trying to make herself feel less small in the face of him. He didn't help by stepping through the door and drawing himself to his full height as if daring her to pull that trigger and take her chances. He had enough scars from bullets, he didn't need more but he refused to back down from this little girl. "If you don't lower the gun I will make you" he said in a steady tone, eyes never leaving hers. It was a dominance thing for wolves but the effect of his eyes unnerved most to begin with.
His lip curled back as she shot back a rather snarky remark, telling him that that was the only answer she would get from him. Obviously there was more of an answer to get. But her next question turned that snarl into a small smile. "Cute..." he murmured. She slowed lowered her gun and he relaxed his threatening stance, leaning against the door. He would give her props for the quick wit and the fact that she got him to smile, if only a little. "I'm a werewolf." he said, a chuckle vibrating from somewhere deep in his chest. He wasn't afraid to admit it, what was the worst she could do to him? Shoot him? He doubted she could get two rounds out before he got to her. "I ask because you have no heart beat and you smell like every other mudo here. But there you stand, holding a casual conversation" he said with a dismissive wave as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

Chloe raised an eyebrow when he smiled. She wasn’t aware of the fact that she had said something amusing, but at least it made him seem a little less scary. “You’re a werewolf?...What is a werewolf doing hiding out in an old school?” well the gun wasn’t going to do her much good then. She had never met one in person but she had heard of them before.
“Mudo? I have been called a lot of things but never that.” That was a word she hadn’t heard before. At least it was a lot better than being called a zombie or an undead monster even if it meant the same thing…She wasn’t really sure what she should say to him. He had been honest and told her what he was without hesitation so it was only fair she did the same. He basically already knew what she was any way, at least it seemed that way. “Well….I am not one of those brainless undead who go munching on anyone they can find. That is just disgusting.” Her biggest fear was turning into one of those. It was a miracle she hadn’t become one. “I’m just dead, that’s really the only way I can describe it without insulting myself…I am not going to try and eat you if that’s what your worried about. I think it would hard to do. Your meat looks kind of tough.” it was a poor attempt at making herself feel better about letting someone know what she was. Talking about it was hard for her and she was afraid he would try to kill her because of it. Though, he really didn’t seem interested in freaking out over her, just curious.
She sat back down on the ground and scratched at the dogs ears some more. “I am sorry to intrude if this is your home. I thought this would be a safe place for me to hide.” She didn’t plan on leaving. This building was big enough for the both of them and she wasn’t leaving until she was ready to. He could try to hurt her or drag her out but it would just be a waste of his time.

She didn't seem too shocked by the fact that he had simply stated that he was a werewolf. He had never bothered hiding what he was, mostly because he didn't bother wandering around in his human form. It was odd that even after what had happened in the world most humans still couldn't comprehend the fact that there were other supernatural creatures in the world. "Why not? Everythings on ground floor, large windows for easy escape and no tight hallways like a house would have. Easier to escape" he said simply. Everything had to be tactical in his mind. Yes he had scouted out plenty of houses in his search for a suitable area to live but this had seemed like the best place.
He tilted his head when she said that she had never heard the term 'mudo' before and he frowned. Each area seemed to have its own word for that the undead were. Here everyone seemed to call them reanimated, other places there were zombies, some the plagues. He had been in cuba when the plague had first hit, there they had called them Mudo, everywhere in central and south america seemed to have adopted that name. "I means silent or mute in spanish, given to the reanimated because of the inability to speak" he said with an easy shrug. She began explaining things, that she could still think and talk though that much was obvious. He tilted his head and listened with interest. There were few things Reed hadn't seen before so the fact that this was something new was quite compelling. He couldn't help but smile slightly, though, when she said that he looked kind of tough. "Well if your not going to try and eat me then I don't think we'll have a problem" he said, lifting his massive shoulders. Though his voice still rumbled there was a hint of humour in it.
She flopped down on the ground beside the dog who now looked content seeing as Reed was no longer giving it the death stare. It leaned into her as she scratched it and he tilted his head. Most of the animals felt the same unease he did around the undead and avoided them yet here this dog was sitting beside her demanding attention. She apologized about intruding and he lifted his shoulders easily. "I cleared this wing of the school out some time ago and closed it off from the rest of the school so it should be secure. I'm two doors down but your welcome to stay as long as you need" he said, a bit surprised by his own act of kindness. Usually he could have grabbed her by her hair and dragged her out. But something about the fact that she had no heart beat yet still carried a conversation intrigued him.
