As Lucas was packing up a bag with gear, a few clothes, and some other nonsense, only one thought kept crawling within his mind. What the hell was he doing? Honestly, it probably would be safe to say that he was slowly going insane, and the the fact that he easily accepted such a truth made it all the stranger. No, he thought suddenly as he shoved the handgun he had found days ago into the back of his jeans, it wasn't he who was crazy, it was the rest of the world that had flipped upside down. With that new thought in mind, He threw the backpack of goodies over his shoulder and headed out of the apartment building he had sheltered himself in. All things considered, it wasn't such a bad place to live in, especially on the higher floors. The chances of a zombie strolling in were at the bottom of the mathematical ladder, while the possibility of Lucas miraculously throwing himself out the window for all zombies to feast upon was even further down.
Keeping to the narrow, darker alleys, Lucas could easily avoid an encounter with Death. Not that he couldn't kick a zombie's head clean off, bug usually they kept in gangs, making it annoyingly difficult for one person to survive an encounter since diplomatic solutions were conducted with violence, in the most literal sense of the word. The gun Lucas was carrying was full of bullets, since he had so ninja-like robbed an armory, strangely enough located in the basement of a family house. A single handgun could not, obviously, rid the world of all evil, but it had done wonders lately of keeping Lucas alive, and it also helped give birth to a a rather cocky attitude, but that aside, Lucas was fairly happy with his situation. Could have been worse, for sure.
Coming to an abrupt halt, Lucas stared forward with both eyebrows elevated in surprise. He was so caught up thinking of his spiritual condition that he had completely forgotten about where he was going. He was supposed to take a left turn a while ago to reach a shopping center, but instead, he found himself facing an Amusement park, large and almost inviting. The scary ride in the corner was especially alluring. "Fuck this" He murmured as he walked straight into the clutches of the entertainment kingdom. Hey, there were no lunatics in sight, so how bad could it be to check around? For all Lucas knew, things were found in places they definitely shouldn't have been found. Like an armory in the basement of a nice family, or a sports car inside a Pawn Shop. So, taking a deep breath, Lucas kicked the iron gates open and marched right in.
