He left the house under the cover of darkness. Justice assumed that night time would be the best time to start out as under the cover of darkness, it would be more difficult for the reanimated to see him. He was armed with makeshift weapons for now. He had found a pair of gardening shears in the basement of the house and had taken them apart. Sharpening the blade of one half on both sides, Justice had made him self a sort of short sword. He had also found a small pistol that he had never know his father had. Justice had the gun in his belt. He only had half a box of bullets however in the black back pack slug over his shoulders.
It was not much but Justice had seen two hunting shops in town during his many visits before all this had begun. He could get more bullets and a better knife there. That was of course assuming that the the stores were not already ransacked and that they were still standing at all. He cut across his front lawn now keep to the shadows instead of moving to the sidewalk. Justice could not see anyone on the street but he knew that he was not alone in the town tonight. He walked back straight and ears alert.
Justice tucked his long red hair behind his ears. His hair used to be shorter but with all that had happened, a hair cut had not been his main priority. His mind skipped to his brother for a moment as it did many times each day. It would be so much better if his twin were here with him. That was when Justice heard footsteps. He backed up to the tall bushes in front of a bungalow home and tried to hide himself. The blade was in front of him just in case.

((hope you don't mind me throwing my feral child in ))
She jogged easily through the streets she had grown up in. Though it had been almost 7 years since she had lived in any of these buildings it was hard to forget that part of her life. 9 years ago she had had it all, the white picket fence, the picture perfect mother and father and then what? That fucking vaccine, that's what... She had been young when it had come out, only 10 and their family doctor had suggested that her parents postpone giving her the shot until they knew a bit more about the vaccine. It had been good advice, too bad he had still given it to her parents. She had woken up the next morning to every nightmare she had ever had come alive. Those boogie monsters that had lived in her closet for so long had walked right out of her parents bedroom when she had opened the door. That had been the only time she had ever been glad she as so timid. Despite the familiar faces, the grabbing hands and biting teeth had made her scream and run. She had hid out in her room for a while but then there was still that nasty boogie monster in her closest, for a 10 year old timid girl who had always had everything given to her it had been a real eye opener.
Desirae paused and dropped to a knee, nose to the air as she inhaled. That had been 9 years ago. 9 years of scavenging and hunting and learning to defend herself. Along her back she carried a crossbow with a number of bolts though she didn't use it often, her main weapon was the spear like weapon she carried in one hand. She held it close to the blade with her arm out straight and so the side so the shaft of the weapon pressed into her armpit and along her back. She was dressed oddly, her shoes made of a soft tan colored material with a bit of fur trim around her ankles. She had shirts on, normal jean cut offs like you'd see any teenager back in the day wear but she had a drape of that same material her shoes were made from slung across one shoulder to cover her chest, slightly fitted around her ribs to keep it from moving, her hair had been cut shorter this time of year but that wasn't what was noticeable, the most noticeable thing about her was the skulk shaped mask she had tied around her throat. She had never gone to school so since the apocalypse had been studying only ancient cultures.
Desirae stood slowly, free hand lifting to touch that mask, fingers slipping through the eye sockets as she gazed around, eyes narrowed. It seemed relatively clear of Mudo. A hunter had moved in with a woman who lived in this neighborhood some time ago and since then it seemed pretty cleared out around here. Butit was still nice to check in everyone and a while, plus there was still that small hope that lived inside her that her parents would be here even if they were dead. Or maybe her young mind had just imagined it, maybe they were perfectly fine... There really was no way to prove it one another. She sighed before setting off at an easy jog again, eyes sweeping the houses rhythmically, something about the task soothing her. She had always been timid, the issue with her stents had only worsened that. She was getting a bit better but it wasn't easy when almost everything and everyone in this world now wanted to kill you. She had met a few friendly people in the last few years, forcing her to learn to speak once again, but it wasn't enough for her to want to rejoin society completely yet.
A rustle of bushes, a very slight sound though, made her jump. Her heart immediately leapt to her throat as she fought the urge to cower and run like a child. Swallowing that fears she crept forward, long legs reaching forward as her spear moved to the ready, blade pointed expertly. She couldn't see anything there but she wasn't taking the chance. Desk stopped in front of the bush she had heard the noise come from and point the spear at it, eyes narrowed as she searched for some form behind it. It could have been a cat, there was more then enough of them around still... "Come out" she said in a half growl, her town low and leaving no room for discussion. She had once wanted to be a singer but after almost 4 years of not speaking to anyone her voice had taken jones a harder, feral edge much like herself.
