Mason is a very trust worthy person, he has always had such a big, soft heart and has often let to many people get close to him. Usually it would be someone that he didn't need to trust someone who was going to use him for his money or his career. When someone borrows money from Mason, he never bothers them about paying it back. Mason is considered a good cop, he gives teenagers second chances even though he really knows that he shouldn't. This is really one of Mason's faults, he puts his heart into everything when he trusts people and it sets him up for heart break. But that doesn't stop him from giving his one hundred percent for everything. Mase is charming, from his personality to his looks. For Mason, making friends has always came easy even when he comes off as an arrogant ass. At times he can use this charm to convince people to do what he feels is what needs to be done. He is often considered a good leader, always taking his time to make decisions and putting the groups safety first. Mason likes to be in control of the situation, he is often considered stubborn and set in his ways. With that comes brains, Mason is very intelligent, all through high school and college and then during the police academy Mason strove to be the very best. Be never scored less than perfect on anything, always studied and trained hard.
Mason is very loyal, to the point that you could consider him almost like a golden retriever. His friendships are what matters most to him and as well as the health and safety of those around him. Mason would rather he die than lose someone elses life. When it comes to relationships Mason prefers to stay away from them, after having lost the love of his life when the vaccine was given to her. If he's going deal with women in the sexual means it strictly a one night stand type of deal. Though he hardly has time for that with his job and raising his five year old son, Arin. But when he was happily married, Mason was often considered an old school romantic. He courted Annie all through high school, opened doors for her and brought her flowers. And when they graduated, he asked her father for her hand in marriage.

At exactly 9:00 p.m. On March 1st, Mason was brought into the world by his loving mother and father in the fine state of Virginia. He was a healthy baby and there was no complications what so ever in the pregnancy. He went home after three days of staying in the hospital where he joined his older sister, Minnie: age six, as the second Brookes child. Life as a toddler in the Brooke's household was one of ease, Mace was the baby of the family so he was spoiled rotten. He started school at the age of four just like any other normal child would do so. It was then that he parents decided moving to Maine, it was such a great idea, his mother had landed a journalist job and his father had gotten some huge corporate seat on a local business so it really benefited the family to up and move.
Mason has never had a dramatic life style, he comes from a strong family that truly love and care for one another. His parents are still as crazy about one another as they where twenty five years ago. Mason's elementary days where one of ease so it's expected that his middle school was as well. He grew up in a loving household that taught him right from wrong and that he should always follow God's wisdom and guidance. Making friends for Mason has always been easily done, everyone has just always seemed drawn to his personality. He's easy going and easy to make friends with.
When high school rolled around Mason was still your happy go lucky kid, he was going strong in sports and excelling in the schools learning programs. He carried a 4.0 GPA and was going to graduate with honors. It was his freshman year when he met Annie, and they fell in love. Mason was easy going and Annie came from a military family. Having constantly been moving all of her life. So she was glad when Mason and his stable life came along, it was something new for her. They married right out of high school and soon after Annie became pregnant, at the age of eighteen with their first and only child together. Arin Gregory Brookes was born nine months later in February. Nothing dramatically changed for the small family. Mason was going through some general college classes while he was going to the police academy. He was doing so well that he even managed to graduate early. it was two years later when Arin was three fixing to turn four when the vaccine was invented. Annie was working at the local hospital and as a precaution she was given the vaccine. It turned her into a zombie and ran away. Mason has been racing his son by himself ever since. Mason was devastated when the vaccine went wrong, and since the loss of his wife has been determined to save as many survivors as he can.
