"Captain's Log. Stardate 2258.57 The USS Enterprise is at full capacity and has recieved her mission from Starfleet. It's a five year voyage: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations. This crew has already been through hell and back and my faith in them cannot be waivered. Having proven their capabilities and loyalty, Starfleet honored many of them with multiple commissions. Each was well deserved. My own experiences continue to help me grow and I only hope I can be the Captain this ship needs. I acquisitioned an In Memoriam plaque that was placed aboard the bridge before we departed on this long and incredible journey. We will never forget those who were lost: crew members, those from Vulcan and the Starfleet Academy and all the family and friends we will hold close in our hearts. The USS Enterprise sets out into the unknown in their honor. What we will find - no one knows. What I do know is this: The Enterprise will endure. We will seek peaceful allies, knowledge, and experiences that will be a match to no one in Starfleet. We will make history, but we will never forget the past." - Christopher Pike, Captain, USS Enterprise
