It was strange how his laugh made her feel so much better, how that little gesture made her feel like she was flying. Were all guys like this? She didn't know, she couldn't remember the last time she'd had an actual conversation with someone never mind another werewolf. She remembered the first time she had been forced to take on her human for after years of living with a pack. It had taken her a while to break the habit of using body language to speak and relearn english. But it was just like falling off a bike, you never forget how to do it.
She tensed as he reached out to touch her shoulder but as his skin brushed hers she relaxed and smiled slightly at him. But he changed the subject fairly easily, something she was more then grateful for. So he had lived as a wolf. Three years? That was generally how long she stayed with a pack. The longest she had stayed with on was 7, like humans they started getting nervous around you as you didn't age. She had never stayed with another werewolf pack, after the issue with her birth pack she had avoided other werewolves all together normally.
But yes life did dish out some hard things... What about her? "I could at birth, my whole pack stayed in their wolf forms though, easier and warmer that way. But we learned to shift from the adults at a young age." she said with a shrug. "Its odd... your the first one of our kind I've come across that can do it." she said, and suddenly she had her head tilted and she was studying him as if he was the most fascinating thing in the world. Well at this point he was. "Have you seen one of our kind thats been bitten?" she asked, trying to keep her voice casual though there was a nervous hint there. She had only seen humans as reanimated, she wanted to know if what was happening to her was normal, if she'd get better or if she was doomed to one day just be a living corpse like the rest of them.

roarke smiled back at her calmly and nodded listening intently "my father taught me a long time ago he reckoned that i needed to know to keep myself safe" he smiled and kept listening to her as he ran his hand through his short sandy brown hair smiling softly and paying close attention to her his eyes never leaving her face and his face always open and curious
Roarke laughed a little when she said he was the first one "ive met a few but it varies in the towns i guess" he grinned and rubbed his hand on his jeans chuckling softly then she asked about zombie werewolfs he stopped but looked up at her a smile still on his lips "when i find out ill let you know i think there is some out there you just have to know the right places to look besides i want to know anyway in case i get bitten one day wat would happen but can i ask you a question why do you want to know ash and can we go for a walk i think it'd be easier to walk and talk about this" he said looking at her his eyes focused on hers again

So it was something that was simply taught like a new language and not something genetic. Well at least she knew that now, it had always been something that had bothered her. She hadn't met a lot of other werewolves in general, trying to avoid them as much as possibly, simply assuming everyone would be like her birth pack. She almost regretted it now, was this was she had been missing out on all along? It was kind of nice not having to choose your words carefully and not wrinkle your nose and such. Though she didn't hate humans like Reed did she did try to avoid exposing herself to them for very long. Generally she couldn't carry conversations and the humans didn't have any patience for her. Hence why she had spent almost all her years living amongst wolf packs. He had met a few others who could shift, she almost wanted to ask names. She remembered almost every name of the wolves who had been currently residing in their pack when she had left but they could easily be other werewolves like him who had simply learned from family. Or maybe older ones like her who had simply learned it on their own.
Back to the zombie werewolves, she had been nervous about bringing up this subject for a reason. He hadn't seen any but was worried about what would happen to him. She wanted to laugh and tell him he should be freaking out if he ever got bitten but he carried on asking why she wanted to know. He suggested they walk and with a quick look around at the mass of people sitting and order she nodded quickly and stood. She tossed her nearly full coffee in the trash and pushed the door open. There weren't many people on the street, the brief snow seemed to have chased them all off. She wondered how long they had been talking, when they had started it was snowing and now the sky was blue and the sun was out, warming her easily. Since being bitten her temperature was similar to a humans so she got chilled easier then most werewolves.
She waited outside for him then fell into step beside him, taking a moment to word what she wanted to say. "I was bitten, not too long ago. Maybe a month ago when I was trying to track my friend. I was stupid and went in this hotel outside of the town, his scent was fairly fresh so I thought I'd find him. I guess I was too preoccupied. I came out of one of the doors and they were everywhere. I was up too high to jump from the window so I had to push through them. I guess I'm lucky I escaped with just a bite" she said, pausing and lifting her shirt to show the hideous wound on her ribcage. It was raised and purplish like rotting meat but little smell came from it. She slowly lowered her shirt again and looked at him as if waiting for him to draw a gun and shoot her between the eyes.

roarke bought another cookie then left stepping beside her as they begun to walk he was eating his cookie when she said she'd been bitten he kept walking though with her he wanted to know more about it when she showed him the wound he winced and looked at her eyes again he was surprised that much was clear before he began to laugh he slapped his forehead smilign and shaking his head "i knew i could smell something different about you" he said chuckling and taking another bite out of his cookie "and you say u were bitten a month ago wow can i ask what it feels like?" he asked looking at her curious again
He was watching her but when he saw that look he raised his eyebrows "of course i wouldnt shoot you geez ash im not that cruel you can still talk and function your not only thinking about blood 24/7 so calm down im not gonna shoot ya believe me im just curious about what its like ash" he said staring off into the distance and taking another bite out of the cookie thinking quietly to himself before looking at her again with a soft smile "and stop acting so nervous around me" he said with a chuckle as he nudged her playfully

He winced when he saw the wound, unlike every other one she had gotten it wasn't healing, at learn not as quickly as it was getting infected. She had done her best to keep it clean but there was only so much she could do. Every so often it still bled due to her heart still moving blood sluggishly through her body and that seemed to help the most but even if she hurt herself more blood did't flow freely anymore. She assumed it stayed mostly near her core to keep everything functioning but really it was all just a guessing game now. She was fucked, that was really all she could think all the time. it was a guessing game, every day she waited to wake up and not have control of herself, just to turn into a killing machine that needed to feast on innocent people. That scared her more then anything.
He laughed, smacking his forehead and her jaw almost his the ground. She almost wanted to snap at him that this wasn't a laughing matter but he said that he had noticed a different scent about her and she folded her arms tightly across her chest, shooting him an evil look as if not impressed by the fact he wasn't taking this very seriously. But he asked what it felt like and she pressed her fingertips against her forehead. "The wound feels weird, like flesh keeps falling off. But other then that I haven't changed much. Well... My heartbeat is almost non existent, I don't bleed much at all unless something goes through my core, even then theres not much blood. My body temperature had dropped considerably and though all the new wounds I've gotten do heal it takes them a lot longer then it normally would" she said, not sure if she was leaving anything out. Honestly the whole heartbeat thing was the weirdest for her. It used to beat so rapidly and now even when she was exercising her heart rate wouldn't go up.
She stared at him, dumbfounded as he told her that he wasn't going to shoot her and to stop acting so nervous around him. Did he not understand that he was the first person she had told? He nudged her playfully and she just stared at him with wide eyes. And her being nervous, well she had been like that long before she had been bitten. But she placed her hands on her hips and faced him. Might as well test just how far this trust would go. "You know those werewolf movies where the guy blacks out and wakes up in an unknown place covered in blood?" she asked as calmly as she could possibly manage. "That happens to me. I can't eat normal food, it makes me sick now. I black out and I wake up covered in blood. For christs sake this morning I blacked out and I didn't come too until an hour before I met you, I was sucking the marrow out of some woman's femur... I think it was a woman... I was covered in blood 5 minutes before I saw you walk in" she said, that nervous disposition replaced by something else. She was borderline freaking out.
She had spent her whole life unable to hurt a fly and now she was killing things almost daily. Sometimes if she drank enough coffee it was every two days and she could at least get far enough from town to avoid hunting humans. Due to the fact she was a werewolf she could catch the critters the other zombies couldn't hunt. "Sorry about flipping out a bit but you have no idea how stressed out I am that I'm going to wake up one morning with the need to kill anything with a heartbeat. Phew... That actually felt kind of good to say..." she said the last part mostly to herself as she drew a deep breath to compose herself. From body language alone it was obvious she felt a bit better getting that off her chest. She looked back to him expectantly, no longer covering her face with her hair but meeting his gaze directly.

He smiled softly "if you ever need to get something off ure chest im here ash i wont judge or do anything like that im here if you ever need me ok i promise just let me know alright" he said looking at her meaning every word as he kept his eyes locked with hers and smiling softly she just couldnt faze him he would be there for her if she ever needed him that much was obvious as he looked at her and waited for her to tell him off as he smiled softly

He sobered up during her freak out and he met her eyes as she ranted and raved. He apologized but she kept on going, just needing to get everything out there for once. It was hard keeping all of it to yourself all the time. But none of it seemed to phase him, he just stood there in silence as she talked about murdering people. At the end of it all as she stood there as if daring him to continue joking around and he just stepped forward and pulled her into a hug. She tensed for a moment before hugging him back. She almost laughed at his comment, having to blink rapidly to fight back tears as he pulled away. "God no, you're being anything but an ass." she said, with a half laugh.
Holy crap.... Once again her jaw almost hit the floor when he spoke again, saying that she could talk to him about anything and that he wouldn't judge her. He was still smiling after it all and she laughed, brushing her hair back and composing herself slowly. "Has anyone told you that you amazing lately?" she said laughing quietly. It took her another minute of focusing on her breathing to be able to control her voice. "Course it has to be the random guy from the coffee shop that I spill everything too right?" she said with a small laugh. "Do you live around here?" she asked easily, trying to get off that topic as quickly as possible.

he grinned and walked inside looking around the bottom floor of the structure before holding the door open for her smiling and heading up the stairs smiling softly as he walked with her smiling softly and looking completely at ease as he hummed softly along to a song and tapped his fingers on the banister along to the beat grinning to himself nothing ever fazed him it was his best and wrst quality at times but when he got mad god help the person who made him so

He was told he was an ass? She found that hard to believe but she still chuckled as he stroked his chin. He was laughing at her, though she had no doubt in her mind that she looked fairly comical. She laughed at his response to her compliment, gotta love men, always so modest. He nudged her and she smiled back at him, looking down as if unable to meet his gaze though now it wasn't nerves that caused her to avert her gaze. He told her where he lived and told her to follow him before heading off. She blinked a few times before jogging a few steps to catch up. She hadn't meant they should go there but she wasn't about to argue.
"Oh no? So you've been stalking me then?" she asked with a smile, tilting her head easily. She slipped in the door as he held it open with a grin before following him up the stairs. It was a quiet walk up a dark winding stair and after a moment she paused, stopping half way between steps. "Wait... Is this where you take me back to your place, chop me up into little pieces and put me in your freezer? she asked, tilting her head, a sly smile stretching across her lips.

She grinned along with him as he teased her about being destined for each other and she pushed him jokingly. He stopped and turned to look at her when she asked if he was going to kill her. He confirmed those fears but she smiled as he said it anyways. "It's always the good looking ones you have to watch out for right?" she asked. Her took her by the hand and told her he needed to get something from his room. Now that didn't sound ominous... But she followed none the less. The kicking and hitting kinda freaked her out but apparently that was what had to happen to get the door to open. She followed him in almost hesitantly, not quite sure what spooky monster would jump out of them from the depths of his cave. God she hated buildings...
Her first instinct was to inhale deeply as well. There was nothing out of the norm in there, the only smell of death there was was coming from her.He said he'd be right back before disappearing and she took a hesitant step inside. It was easy to track him at least, always humming or whistling. She moved to the living room and rested against the couch but didn't sit, simply leaned. It had been a long time since she had been relaxed in a building. Every night she simply shifted into her dire form and curled up somewhere semi warm, then if she happened to get jumped there would be no remembering where the exit was. Though since being bitten the reanimated seemed to take only a passing interested in her. They would come over but not sprint at her like they would a human. Once she got far enough away they generally lost interest at least.

roarke laughed and smiled her "thanks for the compliment ash" he chuckled as he went through his bedroom and finally found it he lifted up a small retangular shaped object some wire was sticking out of it as he stuffed it into his pocket and walked back out to the kitchen he poured himself a glass of water and skulled it then walked back to her and smiled softly "are you alright ash?" he asked looking at her lean on the couch almst uncomfortablely he smiled and tocuhed her shoulder "we can leave if u dont wanna stay ash come on lets go" he smiled taking her hand and heading out the door smiling.
Roarke yawned and bobbed his head to the music stuck in his head as he walked with her then he began singing softly for such a big guy he had such a gentle voice when he sung it was so wierd he laughed then smiled at her bumping her playfully he liked her already as he grinned and began singing again as he headed out the apartment building as he laughed and they walked around again smiling running his fingers through his hair smiling

She heard him coming out and looked up from her feet to see him with a glass of water. He asked if she was alright and she laughed softly. "I've never slept indoors in my entire life, kinda like cars for me. Just something different I guess" she said easily as she pushed off from the couch. He walked over to her and touched her shoulder telling her that they could leave if she wanted. Once again he took her hand and lead her away, walking down the stairs and out the door.
"Okay what are you listening to?" she asked curiously as he continued singing. He bumped against her and she laughed, pushing back against him playfully. God he was cute... "And what exactly were you hunting down in that bedroom of yours?" she asked as she trudged along through the snow, kicking up the snow playfully. It had been quite a while since she had played in the snow never mind acted like a child. But something about the way he was grinning and singing a tune and pushing at her just made her want to dump snow down his shirt and demand to be chased.

She chuckled as he drove home the fact that he understood that she didn't like the indoors. She wasn't really paying attention to him forming the snow in his hands, too busy half skipping and kicking up snow, giggling to herself. She had no idea what song he was talking about, she hadn't listened to music since the 70's and it was all crap. Probably why she had stopped listening. Honestly the 30's had been her favourite decade when it came to music. She tilted her head and quirked an eyebrow as he pulled out the rectangular object and said that it was about to expire. "Expire?" she asked, not quite sure what she meant.
But there was no time for conversation before a snow exploded against her arm and she looked at him with a half shocked half playful expression. "How dare you! I am a lady and expect to be treated as such!" she said while already beginning to build her own fort right there in the snow bank. "Your going to regret this Roarke!" she shouted as she peaked over her own wall at him. With a wink she ducked her head back down and set to work making her arsenal of snowballs."Your going to rue the day you declared this snowball war" she said before launching a snowball up, aiming high and hoping it would drop on his head.
