Charity smiled, “I am sure they will find a cure someday, it would be a start to getting things under control.” It was just taking so long to find one that she wondered if there will be very many people left by the time they did. “You never know, maybe they will find a cure by the end of spring.”
She grinned at him when he asked if she had a boyfriend. “Boyfriend? No I don’t have one.” She laughed quietly, “When I said I was alone I meant completely not just family.” Sure she flirted with boys and went out all the time, but she had never had a boyfriend before. Dating had always been the last thing on her mind, that would probably sound surprising to most people but it was true. “Before the vaccine the only thing I cared about was traveling, shopping and having a good time. I never really tried to find a boyfriend or anything like that.” Not that she didn’t wanted one. It would be wonderful to have someone to be with.
She wondered if that made her sound like a prude or a tease. She hoped not. “What about you? Do you have someone special around here somewhere?” in the normal world it would be surprising if a guy like him was single, but with these times and so little people around she didn’t think there were many relationships around. Meeting someone new was a little difficult with the walking dead running around.

Ryan shook his head. "No I dont have a girlfriend" he said softly. "I did have a crush a long time ago but she's gone now" he winked at her , hoping that he didn't sound too forward. "Besides I have a new crush now"
He smiled at her and waited to gauge her reaction. It was true, he was crushing on her now even though they'd just met. It felt as though they'd known each other for quite some time not 30 minutes or so.
Ryan scooted a bit close to her and gently raised his hand to tuck away several strands of blond hair behind her ear. He looked embarrassed and quickly lowered it.
"I'm sorry I didn't want to appear too forward" he apologized lowering his eyes to the water. A few ducks bobbed with the current.
The sun vanished behind the clouds now. Ryan looked up and saw some dark storm clouds rolling in. Probably a spring shower no less. he looked back at Charity.
"You got a place to stay?" he asked her. If not, she was welcomed to stay with him. He had a large home , split ranch with plenty of room. "If not you're welcomed to stay with me. I promise I dont bite" he said lightly but serious at the same time.
he would never take advantage of her or do anything wrong like that. he respected women greatly.

Charity was confused at first when he said he had a new crush, but when he moved closer she realized what he was saying. She blushed when he tucked her hair behind her ear. He had a crush on her, it was really cute to see him get embarrassed like that. “No sorry needed.” She said as she leaned against him, “I have a crush to.” She bumped him playfully and looked back out at the water. She did have a crush on him, it was impossible not to. Everything just felt right when she was around him. It made her feel a lot better knowing that he was crushing on her to
She didn’t have a place to stay yet; it would be nice to sleep with a roof over her head. It also looked like it was going to rain soon so a place to stay did sound very nice. Though, she did wonder if it would be weird since they had just met. He didn’t seem like the kind of guy who would take advantage of her, and she did trust him “I do need a place to stay as long as you don’t mind and I won’t get in your way, I think I would be safer staying with you then wandering around trying to find my own place.” That and staying with him would allow her to spend a lot more time with him. “You also have to promise me to behave yourself.” She grinned

Ryan grinned at her broadly and bumped her back. He listened to her intently and nodded.
"Yes. You can certainly stay with me. I have plenty of room. It'd be safer too" he added softly smiling as she blushed at his touch.
Ryan stretched lazily and turned back to her.
"How about we head home and I cook you dinner?" he asked her brightly. "I make a mean mac and cheese as well as a roast beef"
He winked at her and grinned.
His heart felt light and happy now that she confessed that she had a crush on him. It was a nice feeling really. He enjoyed having someone to care for and look out for. He would protect Charity with his life if it came down to it. Being in the military hardened him but not to the point of being cold and uncaring. He still cared about her greatly.
He gently reached out and clasped her hand in his, intertwining his fingers with hers. He gently tugged her toward his car.
"There's a guest bedroom on the first floor. I promise to behave myself" he said lightly chuckling at her statement.

Staying with him would probably be the best choice she had ever made. At least that is how she felt about it. Right now nothing sounded better to her then being around him all the time. “I think dinner would be lovely, I am glad one of us can cook. I have never really been that good at it.”
Cooking was never her strong point. She had always had all her meals prepared for her. Now that she didn’t live that life anymore she would have to learn how to. She wanted to learn to take care of herself better and cooking was defiantly a skill someone needed to learn. It would also be nice to be able to cook for Ryan someday “Maybe you could teach me how to cook sometime?”
Charity liked the feeling of his hand in hers. It was comfortable and made her feel safe, just like everything else about him. She grinned as she followed him to his car, eager to see where he lived and where she would be staying. “I don’t really have anything other than these clothes I am wearing and a few other things in my bag so I won’t take up too much room”

Ryan beamed and smiled at her.
"Sure. I'd love to teach you how to do that. it's not that hard really" he said softly as he helped her into the car and then slid into the driver's seat. He buckled himself in and started the engine.
He put his car in drive and began heading toward his house. He pulled into the driveway about 20 minutes later and cut the engine. He hopped out and then helped Charity out. He led her up the front steps and opened the door. He gave her a short bow.
"M'lady? welcome to the lovely home D'Ryan" he beamed at her grinning broadly.
He entered the hallway and dropped his keys on the table. He then entered the living room and flopped on the couch. He grinned up at Celeste.
"Make yourself at home. There's a bathroom on the second floor, first door on the left" he said softly. "you can relax and unwind and make yourself at home"
He smiled at her. He knew this was going to go good. He already liked her a lot so things would more than likely go smoothly

Charity grinned when he bowed, “Why thank you good sir.” She stepped inside and looked around. So far she liked the looks of her new home, though he favorite part still was that she would get to be near Ryan. “I think I am really going to like it here.” She said as she followed him into the living room. She didn’t sit down though; she was too excited about staying in a house.
She smiled at the thought of a bathroom. It would be so nice to be able to get cleaned up. She had to look like a mess, though with the way Ryan looked at her she must not have looked too bad. She walked over to the side of the couch and leaned over the arm, kissing Ryan gently on the cheek. “Thank you for all of this Ryan; you have no idea how much all this means to me. I don’t know how I am ever going to make it up to you” She grinned at him, She was going to do everything she could to keep him from regretting liking her and letting her stay there. “I am going to go upstairs and get cleaned up; I look like I rolled in a pile of dirt of something.” She laughed quietly. “I won’t take too long. Be back in a bit.” She said as she moved away from the couch and hurried up the stairs.

Ryan beamed.
"It was nothing. You're welcomed" Ryan replied grinning at her.
When he was sure she was all settled, Ryan went into the kitchen. He grabbed a few soda's and then placed one on the coffee table for when Charity came back down. He grabbed the TV Remote and turned on the television.
How there were still programs on, he didn't know. There were mostly movie channels that played the same movies over and over, but there were a few channels that broadcasted TV and news. More than likely those that were survivors and decided to keep the new going or put out any kind of alert that might come along.
He flipped a few channels until he found a good one. It was one of his most favorite movies. He hoped Charity liked it as well.
Ryan looked up as Charity came down a bit later. His face lit up. She looked stunning all cleaned up, even more than she had earlier. He patted the seat beside him.
"Hope you like the movie The Hangover" Ryan grinned at her. "It's really funny. If not I have a whole movie supply in that cabinet by the entertainment center"
He motioned to it and waited for her to reply.
"I also nabbed you a soda"

Charity grinned when she saw the look on his face as she came down the stairs. Cleaning up must have really made her look better to get that kind of reaction from him. It made her really happy to think so. She really cared about his opinion of her even though she knew that he already liked her. “I feel so much better now.”
She said as she ran her fingers through her hair and moved over to the couch. “Oh I love the Hangover, the first time I watched it I couldn’t get the tiger song out of my head forever.” She laughed and took her seat next to him. “I didn’t think there were any movies on the TV anymore. Guess we are not as bad off as I thought.” She smiled at him then reached for her soda.
It felt really nice to actually sit down with someone on a comfy couch and watch a movie. You didn’t miss the little things until they were gone. She took a drink of her soda then laid it back down before scooting closer to Ryan and making herself comfortable so she could enjoy the movie with him.
In the back of her mind she wondered if this all could be a dream. It had not been long ago that she had been running and hiding to survive; now she was relaxing on a couch as if nothing happened at all. Maybe it was the way she felt about Ryan that made her feel like things were normal again or maybe things really were just a dream and she was going to wake up alone in some abandoned building somewhere. It was silly of her to worry about it. If this was a dream then she was going to enjoy it till the end.

Ryan grinned at her.
"Hehe yeah the tiger song. I was rolling the first time I saw it." He said laughing.
She sat down next to him. Ryan wound his arm around her shoulders behind on the couch.
"I could move my arm if this bothers you" He said quickly, unsure if she wanted him to making the most cliche' move out there. Still, he wanted to make sure she was comfortable and not uncomfortable.
Ryan watched the movie and listened to her talk about the movie's being on.
"It's satellite. I think we pick up programs from other countries or something. Plus, I think there are still a good amount of people left. TV is mostly news about the vaccine. You can't tell if it's pre-programmed or live at this point" Ryan said shifting and brought his leg up, letting his ankle cross over his thigh. Charity was still close to him again. He'd forgotten how lovely it was to be close to a girl again. He slowly reached his hand out and tucked a few strands of her blond hair behind her ear.
He was worried that perhaps she didn't like it. He enjoyed touching her, but he didn't want to push her.

Charity liked the feeling of his arm wrapped around her. It made her feel safe and protected. It was cute that he was worried about it bothering her. She didn’t think there was anything he could do to bother her “It doesn’t bother me at all.” She said quietly “I like having your arm around me.” She blushed a bit at her confession but she hoped it made him feel better about doing it.
It was nice to know that the news was still running, at least the people wouldn’t be completely in the dark about everything going on.
She wanted to pay attention to the movie, but it was hard to do when all she thought about was getting closer to Ryan. Every time she thought about it her heart raced and she felt a little nervous. This wasn’t something she was used to. However when he tucked her hair behind her ear all the nervousness went away. She smiled at him and laid her head on his shoulder. “I have never felt this comfortable with anyone before. It’s really nice.” she laughed quietly, "No one has ever made me blush this much either."

Ryan smiled and kept his arm around Charity.
"How about I make us dinner? You suggest something I'm pretty good at making food. Mind you I'm used to cooking for one person." he winked at her and stretched again. It was getting late, around six pm now. Time for dinner.
Ryan headed into the kitchen and began getting the pots and pans ready. He turned back to Charity.
"I'm really surprised you hadn't found someone before all this madness occurred" Ryan mused. She was certainly attractive. It was kinda hard to believe she hadn't had a boyfriend before the apocalypse happened.
"Let's see...I can cook a mean potroast, spaghetti and meatballs, lasangna or what ever you'd like" Ryan offered cheerfully as he leaned against the door frame and folded his arms over his chest. He watched Charity.
It began pouring outside. He looked outside the window.
"Yikes. It's coming down out there. I think it might be best if you spend the night. No tricks I promise" Ryan said holding up his hand and winking at her. "It's too dangerous to be driving in this storm"

It was getting pretty close to dinner so Charity though dinner would be a good idea, as she thought about what she wanted to eat she heard him say he found it hard to believe she hadn’t found someone, “Well believe mister cause it’s true.” She laughed quietly and turned to look at him, “I just never found a guy I was interested in until now.” She didn’t know why it was so hard to believe.
“My dad had a lot of money, I guess you could say we were rich, So all the guys I was around before the crises were rich selfish snobs. They only cared about themselves and about money, and I didn’t want that. I want someone who just wants to be with me for me, someone who really cares about what I think…someone like you”
She laughed quietly, “as for dinner I think lasagna would be great, I love any kind of pasta.” She couldn’t wait to see what a good cook he was. The rain pounded on the roof and she winced, she hated storms. Lightning and thunder always made her seem like a coward and she hated to be alone. “It does sound like a pretty bad storm, I have no problem staying here, and I trust you. No worries”
