Derrick took in deep breaths as he tried to calm himself. Marnie's touch was soothing as she cupped his face in concern. He didn't say much at first because he was trying to compose himself. He wrapped his muscular arms around her body frame as she climbed into his lap, resting his head on top of hers. He nodded in response to her question, remembering the night he had been woken up by her screams. He felt for her that night, knowing the nightmares came from worried thoughts. Derrick had comforted her, assuring that nothing would happen to him but now he fully understood the feelings she had gone threw. Losing another loved one was his worst fear and to watch it happen, whether it be real or in a dream, wasn't easy.
"I know." Her words were comforting but actually having her in his arms was better. It was proof that he had on had a nightmare. Marnie was not infected and his family was not in any immediate danger. Derrick rested his head against hers as he placed his hands on her stomach. "I do want this baby." He assured as he stared her in the eyes. Despite his reaction earlier, he was more than certain that this was all meant to be and he was happy with that. He wanted to make sure that Marnie was sure of his decision. If he wanted to back out, if he didn't want to be with her and everything that came with the relationship then he would have backed out along time ago. "I love you." Derrick whispered before kissing her softly. He was thankful to have his family alive and when, now all he had to do was protect them and make sure it stayed that way.
He placed a hand behind her head, tangling his fingers between her blonde locks. He pulled away from the kiss and help her tightly against his cheat, as I'd afraid she would disappear.

Marnie kissed him back passionately. She gently pushed him back on the bed and hovered above him, supporting her weight on her arms. Her blond hair fell forward, shielding her face for a moment.
"I love you too. Very much." she whispered back softly, letting her pelvis rest gently against his. She lowered herself down so that her forehead rested against his. Her blond locks tickled the sides of his head. She kissed his forehead and the bridge of his nose. She stared down at Derrick, deep into his eyes.
"I promise I'm not going anywhere. I know I say this a lot but if anything ever happened to you I wouldnt want to live anymore" she said softly as she gently lowered herself onto him and pressed her cheek against his chest. The steady sound of his heart beating was reassurance that he himself was alive and well. Marnie's heart beat in rhythm with his. She could feel it. Marnie snuggled up against him ontop and closed her eyes. The sound of both her heart and his beating relaxed her so much.
"I'm yours forever Derrick" she said quietly yawning. She gently rubbed her cheek against his chest and eventually was lulled to sleep. |
