Sam's lip twitched again.

"Eh I think you'll be able to. She saved a few pictures" Sam cracked. Suddenly he saw blood trickling down her legs. Alarm bells began going off. She headed into the bathroom. Sam hurried in after her.

He knew she had a miscarriage. he found her on the floor. The blood had pooled on the tiled floor between her legs.

"Christ" Sam said grabbing a towel. He crouched down in front of her and gently threw her arm around his neck. He wound his arms around her and helped her into the bedroom. He laid her down on the bed, carefully cleaning some of the blood that had gotten on her skin.

"Stay here. I'm gonna call my friend. She's a nurse" he explained as he grabbed the cordless off the night stand and called his best friend.

She relayed what to do for her and Sam nodded. He hung up.

"Ok. I have some motrin in the medicine cabinet" Sam said as he grabbed it and a glass of water and handed it to her. "This will ease the cramps" he said.

He gently pulled the covers up over her. "My friends coming over to take care of you." Sam said worriedly watching her. He gently touched her cheek. "You lost a lot of blood so I dunno if she's gonna give you a transfusion or just require ALOT of rest" Sam said keeping his blue eyes locked on hers. A bit of her blood had gotten on the knees of his jeans, but he didn't care. She was more important than a pair of stupid jeans.

Sam watched her.

He waved a hand dismissively at her apology.

"Dont worry about it" he said nonchalantly. "You just rest up ok?"

She had asked about his friend. "Her names Marnie. She was , well is a nurse really." Sam relayed to Rose. "She'll know how to fix you up again"

She hadn't wanted him to leave. He nodded.

"My niece should be home shortly so you can meet her" Sam said as he went around to the other side of the bed and hopped up on it, stretching his legs out, and rested his back against the headboard. He grabbed the TV remote and flipped it on, channel searching until he found a good program.

"There's some movies on if you wanna watch it" Sam offered her glancing at her sideways.

He felt horrible that she'd had the miscarriage. Sam loved kids. he had always wanted them. Emma was basically his daughter now but it was a little different. She wasn't exactly 'his'. That didn't mean he didn't love her anymore. It was just something he'd always wanted with someone. His late wife couldn't have any. They'd talked about options but when she'd passed away, things fell apart.

Sam had come into her room to drop off fresh linens for the bed when Rose had spoken. He looked over at her. He could see she was depressed over the miscarriage. Sam exhaled and sat down beside her.

"Rose," he began quietly. "I know you're depressed. But there is really nothing out there anymore. You're more than welcomed to stay here with me. Emma's home. You could meet her."

Sam said in a soft reasonable tone. it was true, there was really nothing out there in the world anymore. She hadn't any family so it was all the more reason why she should stay with him. Sam gave her the puppy dog eye expression.

"I don't mind having you around" Sam said softly smiling at her.

In all honesty, Sam liked having her around. He had missed the company of a woman since his late wife. It was soothing and comforting having Rose around. There was plenty of room, so she was more than welcomed to remain here with him. At least she'd have a roof over her head and food.

She would be able to have a place to live. Of course, Sam would not be the type to stop her if she really wanted to go
